Ok, before I am going to say anything abou Astrid...now that's a great name dont't you think! If i have a kid I might name it Astrid...any road, as I was saying...Before I say anything about Astrid we are all going to learn how to spell her last name. It's Kirchherr, not Kritchnerr, no Kirchnerr...there is no and i repeat no "N" is her name. Ok now that I got that off my chest...
In 1960, Astrid Kirchherr met the Beatles when they made their first visit to Hamburg. After becoming close friends with this unknown band, she began to do photographic studies of the members she eventually grew to love. Since 1964 Astrid Kirchherr worked as a freelance photographer, and in the same year she and Max Scheler went to photograph The Beatles at the filming of "A Hard Day's Night" for STERN magazine. They took some of the best "behind the scenes" photo's of The Beatles ever captured. Many of which can be seen in their book "Golden Dreams" and in 1968 she took the photograph for the cover of "Wonderwall Music" by George Harrison. Astrid Kirchherr photos have been shown in Hamburg, Bremen, London, New York, Washington D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles, Indianapolis, Tokyo, Vienna, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
